Bovary's Debüt namens "Mes racines dans le desert" wurde auf Vinyl in einer 100-er Auflage wiederveröffentlicht. Die Band aus dem Südosten Frankreichs bestand zum Zeitpunkt dieser Aufnahmen (von 2017, ursprüngliche VÖ dann 2018) aus drei jungen Damen.

Founded in 2013 by S. (bass) and Antinomos (guitars), with Valkenstijn (MOSAIC, NACHTMYSTIUM, SUN OF THE SLEEPLESS) joining on lead vocals two years later, KOSMOVOROUS is a mysterious black metal entity born to exalt the Ophidian ways of the pneuma.

The band's debut EP, “Glorification Sermons” is a relentless and brutal assault on the senses. The work is comprised by two long and complex compositions, two majestic psalms that flay our skins with merciless lashes of utter black metal violence, before soothing our wounds with painful melodies poised between melancholy and rage.
The chemistry between Antinomos and S. is total, with guitars and bass intertwined into some of the most epic and darkest black metal arrangements of the last few years. KOSMOVOROUS' devastating wall of sound takes the breath away; and yet, the spiritually elevating power of “Glorification Sermons” is undeniable, with Valkenstijn's heartfelt, tortured vocals adding depth and drama to a picture already orientated towards great sceneries of sufferance and retribution.
A debut that will surely be talked about.

Golden rays collapse into a kaleidoscopic architecture of deep, subtly shifting chords. Distant, echoing drums push the composition in a driven, but exhaustingly consistent march towards an elusive and perhaps hallucinatory end.

...hatte ich erst so gar keine Lust, weil der NL-Kram schon seit längerem auch mal das ein oder andere Mittelmaß ausgeworfen hat (Nusquama z.B., auch wenn alle glauben, die wären gut ). Empyrean Grace scheinen auf den ersten Hör mit Solar Temple, A Knot Of Tongues und (v.a. nicht ganz aktuellen) Turia mithalten zu können.

Viel Glück. Ist überall aus. Gab nur 80. Omar meinte gestern, er mache erstmal davon kein Repress. Würd ich zwar nix drauf geben, aber bei HN dauert das i.d.R. ohnehin ne ganze Ecke. Amor Fati und Scheißenwald waren die einzigen dt. Distros.

Die neue Malakhim ist das, was was die neue Naglfar hätte sein können: Catchy, kompetent, nicht Reinkaos, aber schon irgendwo noch mit etwas Rock. Das alles klingt gut nach NFR und mich gefällt es. Da stören die paar Watain-Vibes auch nicht.
