Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)
DON`T LOSE YOUR HEAD läuft hier bei den üblichen verdächtigen Rockradios jeden Tag zigmal.
Und steht damit schon den ganzen Sommer in Konkurrenz zu THE UNFORGIVEN, THE BOYS ARE BACK IN TOWN, ROCKING IN THE FREE WORLD und HELL´S BELLS.

Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)
Macht Laune.

Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)

One of the funniest stories in it is this supposed episode (aus American Hardcore) where one of the guys from The E Street Band shows up at Epitaph with a bag of cash, offering to re-record and re-produce Against the Grain... any of this true?
Jay Bentley: Yeah, the keyboard player. (laughs) It's a true story. He came in with another guy who had the suitcase. (laughs) This was back when Epitaph was really small and it was just maybe Brett, Jeff Abarta, and me working there. The guy called, said he wanted to make an appointment, and we were like "why does this guy want to meet us? Whatever, it's cool." So he came in, we talked, and he told us how great he thought Against the Grain was... BUT how much better it would be if he rewrote it and reproduced it in his way. (laughs) I started laughing right away. He was totally serious: "we have the money right here and we can go into a studio immediately." Brett and I both started laughing, and Brett turned to me and said "uuhhh... YOU handle this" and walked out. I was still laughing when I told the guy "you have to leave now. You can't be here anymore."
Dafuck is this? War das bekannt?

Nein, mir nicht. Kommt auch nicht in der Biographie vor. Was ne geile Story. Klingt wie Real Life Version hiervon:

Vielleicht out of context, aber 'Faith Alone 2020' hat mich schon ziemlich umgehauen.

Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)
Frage in die Runde:
Nachdem letztes Jahr endlich der Knoten mit mir und der Band geplatzt ist, habe ich bisher Suffer, Against the Grain und The Empire Strikes First. Was sollte da als nächstes noch dazukommen?

No Control

Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)
No Control
Generator
The Gray Race
The Process of Belief
Anspieltipps: Titeltrack, Billy, You.
Anspieltipps: The Answer, Titeltrack, Only Entertainment.
Anspieltipps: Them and Us, Parallel, Pity The Dead.
-The Process of Belief: Direkter Vorgänger von The Empire Strikes First, wenn dir die also gefällt: Kannst du nichts mit falsch machen. Anspieltipps: Epiphany, Supersonic, Evangeline. New Maps of Hell ist der direkte Nachfolger - besseres Songwriting, schlechterer Sound. Auch sehr gut aber. Anspieltipps: Heroes & Martyrs, Grains of Wrath, Lost Pilgrim.
Recipe for Hate - experimenteller.
New America - sehr poppig.

New Maps of Hell und Age of Unreason. Danach noch No Control und The Gray Race.
Re: BAD RELIGION - "Age of Unreason" (3.5.19)
My brother and I sang the punk rock karaoke tour in Chicago and Hetson was apart of that, so we got to hang out and chill with him after the show, shared a few drinks at the bar...he likes club soda. Anyway, we were super stoked because we were getting a chance to actually talk to one of our punk rock heroes, and we got on the topic of Bad Religion and why he left. I asked him if he'd be willing to share what happened, because I thought he was going through a divorce so he needed personal time away to handle family stuff, but it turns out that certain members of the band didn't want him around anymore as well.
According to him, he said that some members said either he quits or they will quit. He didn't want the band breaking up so he left peacefully so Bad Religion could continue. That's all I know and he didn't say anything else about it afterwards..didn't give any names of who wanted him to stay vs who wanted him to go.
It's a shame, and maybe one day things will be resolved and he'll come back as another guitarist, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Awesome dude, Hetson. Super nice, very down to earth, really chill. We both swore out loud at the same time against the Anaheim Ducks when they beat the Calgary Flames that evening and made it to the Conference Championship....which they LOST to the Blackhawks later on!! But yeah, that was a great evening. Just wanted to share with you all, thanks!
