According to a posting on ToolShed.down.net, word on the street is that the vinyl edition of TOOL's "Lateralus" album will be hitting stores August 23 — only 51 months after the album first came out. The record will apparently be a double vinyl four-picture disc (which sounds like four pictures total on two sides of two records), plus a gatefold package with some type of holographic foil.

Jo, hab die zwar schon auf Vinyl, is aber ne Bootleg, weiß der Henker wo her die kommt.....
Aber so von der Aufmachung her kann man die ruhig 2 mal haben
seit ich die ersten infos hab bin ich schon wieder ganz rattig. und das, obwohl ich mich an der lateralus dermassen todgehört hab.
es soll ein 16 minuten stück auf uns zukommen das alles bisherige in punkto intensität toppen soll (so schrieb blair vor wenigen monaten. der spinnt wohl, einen so früh feucht zu machen ohne was zum reinstecken anzubieten...)

steht in einem tool-newsletter auf der offiziellen seite.. februar oder märz.
und in kürze werden wohl endlich weitere infos zum neuen album folgen. schau die die letzten newsletter an, immer wenn es um "brunch" geht, handelt es um metaphorisierte beschreibungen
Lateralus ist ein verdammt geiles Album. Und die Vinyl kommt ja auch ziemlich rasch, vier Jahre und drei Monate später, das ist doch noch früh, bei manchen dauerts ja schon 10 Jahre ein neues Album aufzunehmen , ne Axl?

A number of copies of LATERALUS vinyl will be available in the store* of the TOOL WEBSITES (both Toolband and the Tool Collective) beginning MONDAY, August 1 (PST). The maximum number of copies for each person ordering is four albums and payment must be made by electronic means (unfortunately, NO mail orders). Although I don't yet have the specifics about the autographed vinyl copies, a LIMITED NUMBER will be made available EXCLUSIVELY for members of the Tool Collective (TA). As soon as I receive this information (price, limitation, etc.) it will be posted on the site.
* Those who order copies of Lateralus vinyl online (i.e. from the Tool 'store') will NOT have to wait the standard 6-8 weeks; shipping will be RUSHED so that you will get your hands on this vinyl well before the release date in the stores.
