Wenn das mal keine guten News sind - Gazpacho haben auf Facebook ein neues Studioalbum und eine Tour angekündigt!

As some of you may have observed we are touring this Oct/Nov and here, is the tour poster with the dates and locations. This is gig you really don't want to miss as we'll be playing "Death Room" which in itself is such a challenge to pull off that if we make it it'll be fantastic and if we mess up it should provide much needed comic relief. It's a win, win kittens. To further add to the temptation I am happy to announce that we'll be joined on tour by Iamthemorning which in itself should be enough to make you want to see the show. They have some fantastic songs and I can't wait to see them live.
The tour poster is made by the master himself Mr. Seijas even though he had two days to finish it he did so beautifully as always. It is his take on the concept of the new album which will be released this autumn, early enough to give you time to give it a spin or two before you go see the show. Sing along to the good parts and all that.
The album is called "Molok" and we are hard at work finishing it these days. It sounds fantastic and it is easily the best gazpacho album to date. The concept is also such a fascinating story that I promise you all, you will be proud of us. It is the darkest album yet and after "Demon" that should tell you something.
More on the new album later, I don't want to distract you from what hope you are doing now which is ordering tickets to come see the show and share some drinks with us afterwards if you have the time. Surely we don't want to repeat some of the low points of the last tour (osnabruck ), so let's all pitch in and try to fill the venues to the brim.
The shows will be intense and will also include an experiment where we try to destroy the universe (seriously), so they will be historic events. Don't miss them, you'll hate yourself if you do.

Wuäh? Schon so schnell ne neue`Beschreibung klingt vielversprechend und jedes Konzert, dass in der Zeche Carl und nicht in dem beschissenen Turock ist, muss sowieso unterstützt werden.

Die Live-DVD ist schon da und sie ist fantastisch. Die Band spielt intensiver und dynamischer als im Studio, der Sound ist genauso perfekt wie die Kameraführung und der Schnitt und die Light- und Videoshow ist für eine Band dieser Größenordnung auch beachtlich.
Highlight: Der Fünf-Songs-Block Golem/I've Been Walking (Pt.1)/The Wizard Of Altai Mountain/I've Been Walking (Pt.2)/Winter Is Never. KAPUTT gegangen bin ich dabei.

Unfassbar gut ist die DVD. Vor allem bei den "Demon"-Songs hatte ich eine Gänsehaut nach der anderen. Krass, wie super die aufeinander eingespielt sind.
Ja, hammergeil.
Die Demon-Songs plus Golem waren echt das Highlight.
Gegen Ende (die Zugaben) zog es sich IMO ein wenig, weils halt doch sehr ruhig ist alles und 2 Stunden auch nicht gerade kurz sind.
Trotzdem unglaublich. Der Drummer kann ja alles und der Sänger eh, trotz Austin Powers Lookalike
Wie sie den Wizard of Altai Mountains darbringen ist allerdings schon GANZ großes Kino und IMO Weltklasse.
Das mit den Zugaben stimmt, die Songs (wie auch das komplette Album "Night", von dem diese Songs sind), finde ich ohnehin wenig spannend. Ändert aber nichts daran, dass die DVD ansonsten überragend ist. Schön, dass sie euch auch so gut gefällt.

Norwegian Art-rock progressive outfit Gazpacho are set to release their brand new studio album ‘Molok’ through Kscope on 23rd October 2015.
‘Molok’ the follow up to their acclaimed 201 album Demon sees the band continue to push the boundaries for creating the most complicated and strangest concepts for a record while simultaneously becoming the first band ever who are actively trying to destroy the universe with their album.
A small code that sounds like a strange noise at the end of the album will cause the correction software that runs in all CD players to generate a random number every time the CD is played. If that number should correspond to the actual position of all electrons in the universe then technically the universe could be destroyed.
Of course you may wonder why a band would want to destroy the universe but as the band ask, ‘If it can be destroyed by such minute creatures within it, if it is just a chemical reaction, then does it have any spiritual value? In this scenario there is no good or bad, just an absence of meaning`
Across the album there are religious themes going head to head with modern day new science ideas and theories, Gazpacho’s Thomas Andersen states, ‘the album itself is about a man that sometime around 1920 decides that wherever anyone worships a God they always seem to be worshipping stone in some form. Whether it is a grand cathedral, the stone in Mecca or Stonehenge. God seems to have been chased by his worshipers into stone never to return. This harkens back to Norwegian folk myths where if a troll was exposed to sunlight it would turn to stone but it also reflects the way God has been incommunicado for a very long time.’
The band go on to say, ‘In a mechanistic view of the universe all events in the universe are a consequence of a previous event. This means that with enough information you should be able to calculate the past and the future and this is what he does. He names the machine ‘Molok’ after the biblical demon into whose jaws children were sacrificed because his machine crunches numbers. On solstice day he starts the machine and it quickly gains some form of intelligence as it races through history undergoing its own evolution.‘
Throughout ‘Molok’ the band focus on the idea that without God/a god to guide us, humanity is unsure of the meaning of life, that while we attempt to fill the void with other things we’ve still not found the answer and without a master to lean on we are very much alone in this universe.
On the album Gazpacho make a direct connection with history. Norwegian music archaeologist Gjermund Kolltveit appears on the song "Molok Rising" plays his reconstruction of stone-age instruments making an educated guess at what the early songs of worship must have sounded like. This includes small stones, moose jaws and an assortment of flutes and stringed instruments. He also plays the Skåra stone, a singing stone which has a strong possibility of having been in use since the last ice age ended 10.000 years ago. Technically this means that the album uses the oldest original instrument ever recorded on an album.
The band are also joined by world-renowned Norwegian accordion player Stian Carstensen who is a central member of Balkan-jazz orchestra Farmers Market
