So sehr ich Bandcamp als Plattform auch schätze, solche Geschichten lese ich immer wieder mal und sind so gar nicht schön:

Da muss sich BC etwas einfallen lassen, um solche Dinge nachhaltig zu unterbinden.

imho sollte sich da erstmal der Musiker an die eigene Nase fassen, wenn er ein Problem damit hat, die für ein Takedown notwendigen Formalitäten korrekt auszufüllen. Genauso, wie jeder Depp fremdes Material hochladen könnte, könnte jeder Depp fremdes Material ja sonst per einfacher Takedown Anfrage "sabotieren".

lässt sich aus der Antwort von Bandcamp und seiner Reaktion darauf ableiten:

und anstatt die nunmal notwendigen Formalitäten zu erledigen, wollte er lieber weiter Frustabbau betätigen und schickte (scheinbar) lediglich eine Reply-Mail:

"And I expect a reply to the other questions I had. Once again: Where is the money going? How is it possible that seemingly anyone can upload my music to your website without my consent?"
Seriously, how hard can it be?! You have my music on your website. For sale with the money going to somewhere I have no knowledge about. I never granted you or anyone permission to sell my music. I own it. No record label. Just take it off your goddamn site! Is this too much to ask? You have stolen my music and someone is making money of it.
Is this your business?!"

Ich vermute mal, die Bandcamp-Offiziellen dachten sich im Anschluß dann auch nur noch:

"Seriously, how hard can it be?"

Ziemliche Katastrophe alles. Zeit online hat gerade einen guten Artikel dazu (leider nur für Abonnenten), der ein düsteres Bild der Zukunft malt. Dass man gleich mla die Hälfte der Belegschaft gefeuert hat (darunter sämtliche Betriebsratsmitglieder) lässt ahnen, wo das hingeht.

Bandcamp wurde verkauft (wieder mal), an irgendeinen Dienst namens Songtradr, die haben direkt mal die halbe Belegschaft rausgekegelt, darunter eben der komplette Betriebsrat sowie fast alle, die da kuratieren.
Soll aber alles so bleiebn, wie es ist. LOL.
